Meet The Speaker: Yael Balla
As part of our preparations for YGLF 2019 Code Camp (it's almost here!) we're excited to share with you another interview, in the series of interviews, with this year's amazing speakers. Hear their stories and their professional insights. This time we're with Yael Balla!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself
Started my career on the backend side, were I lead development of several products, including distributes systems and big data products. Three years ago I lead a project as an architect, that introduced me to the front-end world, since then I was hooked. I love developing frontend because of the high speed of changes and new developments in this field.Â
Q: Who is your favourite tech thought leader and why?
One of my favorites is Robert C. Martin, aka Uncle Bob (@unclebobmartin), the way he advocates software design principles, changed the way I view software craftsmanship. Also I follow Dan Abramov (@dan_abramov), who's work on Redux and react made a significant impact on front-end development, for me reading his blog and tweets is always interesting and brings new perspectives.
Q: What advice would you give yourself at the outset of your career?
I would advise myself, be brave, take new challenges and try new things. If you don't try something, you will never find out if you actually like it.Â
Q: What will you teach us at YGLF 2019: Code Camp?
I will talk about design systems, from developer point of view. Design systems are very popular in the UX world today, and many organizations have or starting to build such. This talk will give takeaways for frontend developers and improve the developer-designer relationship.
Thank you, Maor!
